Left frame: Several mature neutrophils surrounded by platelets.
Band and earlier neutrophils are not affected. This is a marrow aspirate sample to which EDTA has been added.
Right frame: 4 mature neutrophils, several immature neutrophils and NRBC which show no platelet adherence. This is a marrow smear made at the bedside with no anticoagulant added. Child with Platelet Satellitism. Marrow - 50X
